LMNT use an evaporated, high purity level salt sourced in the US.

LMNT's salt is mined using a process called Evaporated Salt Production, also referred to as “Solution Mining.” Moisture is evaporated from a manufactured brine to form salt crystals. To start, fresh water is injected into an underground salt deposit where it dissolves the salt into a saturated brine. This brine is then pumped back to the surface where it is boiled and evaporated to create salt crystals.

LMNT chose this method to avoid the potential blast contaminants from traditional blast mining and microplastic contamination from the sea.
